Andrew Goldberg's Birthday

.

There used to be a superstition that if a baby was born on Halloween, they would grow up to be somewhat scary looking. Baby Andrew Goldberg put that superstition to rest. In fact, many women  (and possibly a few men as well), when they meet Andrew (who changed his name to AJ Hammer for professional reasons) want to sing the old standard Bing Crosby hit

You must've been a beautiful baby
'Cause baby look at you now.
Does your mother realize
The stork delivered quite a prize
The day he left you on the family tree?

AJ did a little modeling earlier in his career and is featured in the book Heartthrob: A Hundred Years of Beautiful Men in which he is described as possessing "almost-too-good-looking-for-words attractiveness." AJ parleyed his good looks, charm, and broadcast skills in a very lucrative gig with CNN as host of HLN's evening celebrity news show, Showbiz Tonight.  AJ has been with Showbiz Tonight since its launch in February 2005 after hosting Court TV's  Hollywood Heat  and reportedly signed a new contract with HLN in November 2011 to keep him him hosting the show for several more years as well asan entertainment correspondent for CNN.

Although billed as “Television’s Most Provocative Entertainment News Show," AJ generally comes across as too nice to be provocative and generally has guests with more moderate viewpoints to discuss the often tangled webs of celebrities' lives in the news.

So to celebrate AJ's birthday, we suggest toasting him with a Velvet Hammer and watch the episode "Running on E" in 2009's TV series Entourage that features AJ appearing as himself. As a side note, there is an unfortunate street jargon sexual connotation of the term "Velvet Hammer: which we hope won't detract those preferring missionary-position sex from enjoying this tasty concoction.
